ISA’s Legal and Technical Commission announces the selection of one (1) candidate to benefit from French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer) internship opportunity

On 8 January 2024, the Legal and Technical Commission of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) confirmed the selection of one (1) candidate from a developing State to benefit from an internship opportunity provided by French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer) in accordance with its obligations under its exploration contract for polymetallic sulphides with ISA.

Applications now open for six at-sea on-board training opportunities with China Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association (COMRA)

Applications are now open for six (6) at-sea on-board training opportunities for candidates from developing States, Members of the International Seabed Authority (ISA).  The placements are being provided by China Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association (COMRA) in accordance with its obligations under its contracts for exploration for polymetallic sulphides (PMS) with ISA.

DEADLINE EXTENDED – Call for an expression of interest for research fellows from LDCs to undertake a three-month fellowship in data management, geoscience and ocean economy at ISA Secretariat

The Secretariat of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), together with the United Nations Technology Bank for least developed countries (UNTBLDC), calls for expression of interest from research fellows from Tanzania and Nepal to apply to one of the two three-month research fellowships with ISA Secretariat in Kingston, Jamaica, until 31 October 2023 7 December 2023.
