Ambassador Paola Amadei, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Jamaica, presented her credentials as the Permanent Representative to the International Seabed Authority to the Secretary-General on 8 February 2012.

Ambassador Amadei is also Head of the EU Delegation to Belize, the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, with responsibility also for the Cayman Islands and the Turk and Caicos Islands.

Ambassador Amadei has enjoyed a long and distinguished career which has included postings in various Latin American and European countries and has been part of the European Union delegation to the United Nations in New York.  She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Tufts University in the United States.  She speaks fluent Italian, English, Spanish, French and German.
