ISA Legal and Technical Commission and Finance Committee close their meetings under part II of the 27th session
On 15 July 2022, the Legal and Technical Commission (LTC) and the Finance Committee (FC) of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) closed their meetings under the second part of the 27th session of the Authority. The LTC and the FC met in person in Kingston, Jamaica between 4 and 15 July 2022 and between 13 and 15 July, respectively.

Call for Proposals for a Work Process Review
The Secretariat of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is accepting proposals for consultancy services in Risk Management, particularly aimed toward work process review and improvements to assist ISA in fulfilling its mandate under the United Nations of the Law of the Sea and in line with ISA’s strategic framework. The successful bidder will review the current work processes and suggest improvements to optimize the ISA’s workflows, interdepartmental communication, and general process management.

High-level event at the 2022 UNOC highlights the importance of multilateralism and international cooperation in ensuring the stewardship of seabed mineral resources and the protection of the marine environment of the Area for the benefit of humankind
On 29 June 2022, the International Seabed Authority (ISA) convened a high-level side event in partnership with France, Canada, the Cook Islands, Senegal, Singapore, Norway, Tonga, and India. The event, held on the margins of the 2022 UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, highlighted the role of strategic partnerships and multilateralism in ensuring the sustainable management of the deep seabed and its resources and how this contributes towards achieving the goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
