Applications now open for two at-sea on-board training opportunities with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea (MOF-ROK)

Applications are now open for two (2) at-sea on-board training opportunities for candidates from developing States, Members of the International Seabed Authority (ISA).  The placements are being provided by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea (MOF-ROK) in accordance with its obligations under its contracts for exploration for polymetallic sulphides (PMS) with ISA.

ISA’s sixth annual contractors’ meeting concludes in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The Secretariat of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) held the sixth annual meeting of exploration contractors from 22 to 24 October 2023. The meeting was held in Dar es Salaam, the United Republic of Tanzania. Twenty-two representatives of exploration contractors attended the three-day meeting in person and virtually.

ISA – China Joint Training and Research Centre launched its second training workshop on Marine Science and Technology in Qingdao

On 17 October 2023, the International Seabed Authority (ISA) – China Joint Training and Research Centre (ISA-China JTRC) launched its second training workshop on marine science and technology organized with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources of China, the China Oceanic Development Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and the Qingdao municipal government.

ISA’s Legal and Technical Commission announces the selection of three (3) candidates to benefit from Marawa Research and Exploration Ltd. (Marawa) training opportunities

On 11 October 2023, the Legal and Technical Commission of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) confirmed the selection of three (3) candidates from developing States to benefit from training opportunities provided by Marawa Research and Exploration Ltd. (Marawa) in accordance with its obligations under its exploration contract for polymetallic nodules with ISA.

Applications are now open for one (1) geological studies internship for a candidate from a developing State, Member of the International Seabed Authority (ISA).  The placement is provided by Ifremer (French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea), in accordance with its obligations under its contracts for exploration for polymetallic sulphides (PMS) with ISA.

The ISA Secretariat and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry sign a letter of cooperation to enhance policy dialogue among stakeholders on deep-sea-related matters

The Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), H.E. Mr. Michael W. Lodge, and the Assistant Secretary General and Coordinator of the International Division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Dr. Gunveena Chadha, signed a letter of cooperation today to foster the relationship of the two institutions on strategic areas of mutual interests.
