On 15 July 2022, the Legal and Technical Commission of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) confirmed the selection of eight (8) candidates for at-sea on-board training opportunities provided by Companhia de Pesquisa de Recursos Minerais (CPRM) in accordance with its obligations under its exploration contract for cobalt-rich ferromanganese crusts with ISA.

Applications are now open for six (6) theoretical internship opportunities for candidates from developing States, Members of the International Seabed Authority (ISA). The placements are provided by JSC Yuzhmorgeologiya in accordance with its obligations its contract for polymetallic nodules (PMN) with ISA.

On 21 June 2022, Dr. Raijeli L. Taga (Fiji), facilitator of the informal working group on the protection and preservation of the marine environment established by the ISA Council, will host a webinar to discuss the Environmental Compensation Fund for activities in the Area.
